About this site

Who runs it, and why

Lehigh Valley Locksmiths is maintained by the owner of 24/7 Emergency Locksmith, a mobile locksmith based in Bethlehem. That business is listed here under the same criteria as everyone else, with a disclosure on its listing, and it is ordered by distance like the rest. Nothing on this site routes calls to it.

The site exists because the fake-locksmith scheme hurts everyone who actually works in the valley: customers pay three times the price, honest shops lose the call, and the whole trade gets the reputation. A plain list of real shops, and a plain explanation of the scam, seemed more useful than another complaint.

Money

There are no advertisements, no paid or featured listings, no affiliate links and no lead selling. Nobody is charged for anything, and nobody is asked for a link in exchange for a listing. The site costs a domain name and a hosting plan, paid by the maintainer.

Review rules

Customers can leave reviews on each listing. Every review is held until a moderator checks it against these rules, and the moderator approves or rejects a review but never edits its text.

• A first name, a last initial and a town are required. Anonymous reviews are not published.
• The review must describe a real job: what was done, roughly when, and how it went.
• Reviews of competitors written by other locksmiths or their staff are rejected.
• Accusations of crimes or named individuals are rejected; describe what happened to you instead.
• A review that follows these rules is published whether it is good or bad, for every shop, including the maintainer’s own.
• Reviewers who send a copy of their receipt or invoice through the private receipt form have their review marked as verified. Receipts are seen by the moderator only and are deleted after the check.
